Tottenham boss Andre Vilas-Boas is ready to commit his future to the club; but only if they assure him they will be keeping hold of Gareth Bale according to The Daily Mail.

The Portuguese boss is currently being heavily courted by Qatari-backed Ligue 1 Champions PSG. The French club are ready to offer him a lucrative financial package as well as significant backing in the transfer market should he decide to join them in Paris.

But AVB is ready to turn down their advances and continue with his project at Spurs, providing that he receives assurances that the club will be keeping hold of Gareth Bale.

Bale enjoyed a scintillating campaign at White Hart Lane last season and went on to win both the PFA Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year awards.

Those performances did not go unnoticed with the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United keen to secure the player’s services.

But Tottenham are desperate to hold on to the Welsh star and are pulling out all the stops to persuade him his future is in North London.

AVB is happy to use PSG’s interest to leverage Spurs chairman Daniel Levy into guaranteeing Bale will remain at the club as well as to secure funding for attacking reinforcements.

PSG look set to be facing up to another setback as they continue their search for a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti according to The Guardian.

The French side are currently in the process of looking for a new manager with Ancelotti looking destined to take over at Real Madrid from Jose Mourinho, despite leading the Ligue 1 side to the French title and the last eight of the Champions League.

PSG are keen not to lose momentum as they look to establish themselves amongst the dominant forces in European football and are looking to sign a high profile manager.

But they were frustrated in their attempts to sign Dutch gaffer Guus Hiddink after his club Anzhi Makhachkala invoked a clause in his contract extending his stay for another year.

That persuaded PSG chiefs to turn to Andre Vilas-Boas after the Portuguese boss rebuilt his reputation with an impressive season at Spurs.

Vilas-Boas’ representatives reportedly held discussions with PSG over the weekend but it appears that AVB is ready to turn down their advances, despite the club offering him a lucrative pay package and significant backing in the transfer market.

It is thought that AVB is keen to continue building on what he has developed at Spurs and wants to start a second season at a club for the first time in his managerial career.

Tottenham are ready to act on their interest in Corinthians’ Paulinho and match the player’s minimum fee release clause according to Goal.com.

The Brazilian midfielder has been widely linked with a move to Europe after some highly impressive performances for the Brazilian side in recent years.

Paulinho was an integral part of the Corinthians team that went on to win the Club World Championship last December.

That prompted speculation linking the player with a January move to the likes of Chelsea and Inter Milan but Paulinho was keen to first complete the season with Corinthians.

It had been suggested that Paulinho had signed a pre-contract agreement to join Inter but those reports have been rubbished by the club.

Tottenham now appears to be in pole position to secure his services as they are ready to meet his £17 million buyout clause.

The player’s representatives held talks with the North London club last week and it is thought thoe talks have persuaded the club to make their move.

The move is part of a concerted effort by Spurs to target the Brazilian market. The club feel there is value to be found and are also keeping tabs on Atletico Mineiro’s Bernard.

Tottenham Close In On Impressive Attacking Trio as Andre Villas-Boas Find Willing Buyer for Emmanuel Adebayor

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is ready to turn down interest from PSG in his services and push on ahead in pursuit of a trio of talented attackers according to the Daily Mirror.

Emmanuel Adebayor, who had a poor season at the White Hart Lane side last term, is closing on a move to Fenerbahce, a move that Villas-Boas hopes to generate £10m from, which he will then pump into a push to bring in some much needed attacking reinforcements.

Experienced Barcelona striker David Villa heads Tottenham’s summer wish-list and the 31 year old seems more likely than ever to leave the Nou Camp this summer following the arrival of Neymar.

David Villa Arsenal Summer

The former Valencia man was already behind Alexis Sanchez in the pecking order for a spot supporting Lionel Messi in Tito Vilanova’s strike-force and though Arsenal were said to be interested in the Spaniard it appears Arsene Wenger has switched his attention to Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain.

Villas-Boas wants to bring in all his summer signings ahead of Tottenham’s pre-season training that starts early next month and is in the advanced stages of talks to bring in long term target Leandro Damiao.

The North London side have been chasing the Internacional man for the best part of 18 months but are still pushing ahead with moves to capture the £20m rated Brazilian.

Paulinho Man City

Andre Villas-Boas is said to be closing in on another Brazilian, attacking midfielder Paulinho, who is due to fly in to London for contract talks with the Premier League side.

Tottenham could well do with strong attacking additions having relied far too heavily on Welsh winger Gareth Bale last term. Moves to sign top quality players this summer could also help to prevent the 23 year old from having his head turned by an ever growing interest in his services from Real Madrid and others.

Moves to bring in additional strikers are perhaps all the more relevant given the alarming goal drought that Jermain Defoe suffered in the second half of 2012/13 when the England man managed just one goal in his last 15 Premier League appearances.

Inter Milan Confirm Tottenham Interest In Fredy Guarin

Inter President Massimo Moratti has confirmed that Tottenham are one of a number of clubs keen on securing the signature of Freddy Guarin according to Sporting Life.

The Colombian midfielder is thought to have attracted the attention of a number of European sides following a highly impressive season at the San Siro.

It is thought that Tottenham have been admirers of Guarin for some time and have now been persuaded to make their move for the 26 year old.

Inter are reluctant to sell Guarin as he has become an integral part of their time since joining from Porto last summer.

Tottenham may have to move soon if they wish to prevent being caught up in a bidding war. Wealthy Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are also thought to be showing an interest and will likely be able to flex their financial muscle in order to price Tottenham out of a move.

But it is thought that Guarin would favour a move to the Premier League which could pave the way for a switch to White Hart Lane.

Tottenham know Guarin’s talents well after the two sides went head to head in last season’s Europa League in a tie which Tottenham eventually won on away goals.

PSG Step Up Interest In Tottenham Manager Andre Vilas-Boas

PSG are ready to step up their interest in Tottenham manager Andre Vilas-Boas according to The Guardian.

The Qatari-owned side are currently in the market for a new manager with Real Madrid almost certainly likely to announce Carlo Ancelotti as the successor to Jose Mourinho in the coming days.

It is thought that a deal has been agreed to take Ancelotti to the Spanish capital but PSG are refusing to confirm it until they have his replacement lined up.

PSG had wanted to lure Guus Hiddink from Anzhi Makhackkala but the Russian side have invoked a clause in the Dutchman’s contract extending his deal for another year.

That has prompted them to turn to Portuguese boss Vilas-Boas who has rebuilt his reputation last season at Spurs following his disappointing reign at Chelsea.

It is not yet clear whether AVB will be interested in the overtures of PSG, with the Spurs boss having previously stated that he is keen to take charge of a second season at the club.

Despite having managed Portuguese sides Academica, Porto and previously Chelsea, AVB has never managed a club for more than one season.

The lure of managing one of the world’s biggest clubs with a seemingly unlimited budget may prove too tempting for AVB to buck that trend.

Tottenham Lead Race to Capture £20m Wigan Athletic Midfielder James McCarthy

Tottenham are reportedly leading the race to sign Wigan Athletic youngster James McCarthy according to the Sunday Times.

Andre Villas-Boas is said to be a big admirer of the 22 year old Republic of Ireland international, perhaps seeing the Latics battler as a natural replacement for Scott Parker, who is said to be set for a White Hart Lane exit this summer.

Having suffered relegation to the Championship and seen boss Roberto Martinez flee to Everton there is perhaps a very real chance that chairman Dave Whelan will have his work cut out keeping the nucleus of his FA Cup winning side together and with that in mind a £20m price tag has been slapped on McCarthy.

It is extremely unlikely that Tottenham would fork out such a fee but there is every chance that any offer in excess of half that valuation would be accepted, especially if the former Hamilton Academicals man were to make a transfer request.

McCarthy has impressed during his four seasons at the DW Stadium and the midfielder would certainly be tempted by a move to the North London club, especially knowing that Villas-Boas is a manager well known for trusting to youth.
